| Description: | This content, which is part of the multimedia material of the book Education without Frontiers at Amazon: trajectory and perspectives of the UFPA distance learning, presents, through a round of conversation involving the professors Alex Fiúza, José Miguel Veloso and Selma Leite, the strategic role of the distance learning to the Federal University of Pará and to the Amazon region. In the video, the professors tell how the progress of the program began during the Rector Alex Fiúza de Melo’s administration and they also consider the changes that have been happening concerning the teaching and learning process since the use of the information technologies, mainly the professor’s role and the necessity of a continuing education. During the conversation, the participants point the UFPA as a reference in distance learning nationally. They also mention how it was instituted the State-Owned Companies Forum for education, which initiated the proposal of the Open University of Brazil (UAB). |
