| Description: | This content, which is part of the multimedia material of the book Borderless Education in the Amazon: trajectory and perspectives of the UFPA distance learning, brings the report given by the professor Silvino Araújo, who tells how he joined the crew of the Mathematics major degree course in the distance learning way and how he gained experience and knowledge about the training needs in Pará state and Brazil. He points out the importance of distance learning for the training of teachers and underlines that these teachers who study in the distance learning with the use of technologies become more susceptive to change their educational practices. Because it proportionates a different methodology, the students who were able to adapt to this method are going to form a new generation of teachers that will make the education quality better. He also emphasizes that the professors of the Mathematics presencial course are already using the virtual learning environments in their subjects. |
